

Teenagers from Mid Wales who are interested in Art and Sculpture are invited to get involved in designing their own piece of art or collaborating with other young artists to create an artwork inspired by Robert Owen, to celebrate the 250th anniversary of his birth. Robert Owen was a social reformer, born in Newtown and the founder of the Co-operative movement.
Thanks to support from the Arts Council of Wales and in conjunction with the Oriel Davies Gallery a series of day workshops will run in the studio at Mid Wales Arts Centre, Caersws on Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout August. Those young people attending will learn about different approaches to sculpture and work with members of Sculpture Cymru, the National Association of Sculptors in Wales.
They will have the chance to explore their ideas under expert guidance, gaining practical experience and theoretical Knowledge.
