DESCRIPTION:Cross Fertilisations Poetry Workshops with Ian Munday \nWednesdays 2-4pm – 17 June\, 24 June\, 1 July  FREE\, Open to all\, donations welcome \nPoetry Workshops: In response to our current exhibition of paintings by Sarah Lloyd MA: the Poetics of Space we are running a series of poetry workshops\, led by Ian Munday. \nMusic can be inspired by literature and poetry: think of Pushkin and Tchaikovsky\, Schubert and Goethe & Britten and almost any English poet going. Artists similarly can be inspired by literature: Dore & Dante\, Holman Hunt & Keats\, Ceri Richards and Dylan Thomas\nPoets – by anyone or anything! \nIn these three workshops we will be aiming to explore our poetic vocabulary around the visual arts with the aim of producing poems to reflect visual works currently on display. \nCome along and explore the potential poet in YOU. \nFurther information: Paper and pencils supplied. We have B&B accommodation available \nAbout the tutor: Ian Munday is a published writer\, thinker and  art history graduate. DESCRIPTION:Mosaic Workshop with Delia Taylor-Brook \nSaturday 20 June 10-4 £80 (eventbrite fee applied) \nSummer Mosaics: At these workshops you may mosaic a summer theme either onto a curved surface such as a small terracotta flower pot or a piece of slate or wooden MDF board. Themes might include summer flowers\, birds\, frogs or insects or something else that appeals to you. \nFurther information: contact office@midwalesarts.org \nTravelling from further afield? We have B&B accommodation available \nAbout the tutor: Delia creates beautiful mosaic work using carefully selected pieces of discarded china\, tesserae and found objects. Sometimes broken heirlooms revive memories\, images tell new stories. Delia is a fine art painter\, inspired by nature who became fascinated by the jewel-like colours\, designs and patterns of glass and ceramics and the exciting possibilities of this ancient art in combining found objects in new compositions. \nThe bases for the mosaics and all the mosaic pieces\, including tiles\, glass\, beads\, china and ceramics will be supplied but do bring your own pieces if you wish to include them in your mosaic. \nwww.deliataylorbrookstudio.co.uk \nBook Online

DESCRIPTION:We are happy to announce that we will be running art workshops for children this summer. \nAges: 7-12 year olds on \nDates: Mondays and Tuesdays 10-4.30pm \nPrice: £15 per session \nActivities will include:\nCyanotype with Joe Purches July 27th & 28th\nNatural Inks workshop with Amanda Thessinger  5th August\nClay with Cathy all dates \nFurther Details:\nJoe Purches will be teaching Cyanotype\, a fun way of introducing children to the photographic process and printing\, on the mornings of 27th and 28th July. Children will be encouraged to discover suitable natural objects in the landscape. \nMaking and Drawing with Natural Inks with artist in residence Amanda Thessinger on 5th August (details to follow) \nIn the afternoons Cathy will encourage children to explore ways of making Clay Sculpture \nChildren should wear old clothes and bring a packed lunch. There are frequent breaks built into the day. \nAbout our tutors: All our workshops are taught by experienced\, qualified teachers with DBS certificates. \nLimited Places \nemail office@midwalesarts.org.uk for a booking form
