Ceramic Surface Decoration Course with Owen Thorpe

Saturday 2nd April & Sunday 3rd April, 10-4pm

Owen Thorpe studied painting & lithography at Harrow Art School and teacher training at Southampton University. He was elected Fellow of Craft Potters Association in 1974. He set up his own pottery in London and taught ceramics in Fulham and Kensington, developing his knowledge, skill and reputation. He has a lifetime of experience as a professional ceramicist, and is very highly regarded as a master of his craft with a specialism in decoration, pattern and the use of lustres. We feel honoured that Owen has agreed to teach this course at Mid Wales Arts.

This 2-day course is for those who have some experience with clay and wish to develop their practice. You will have the opportunity to learn different surface decoration techniques under Owen's skillful eye.

You will need: one or more bisque fired plates, vases or pots to decorate on this course.
